Meet your Principal

Melanie is a tutor for reflexology, massage and anatomy and physiology courses. Uniquely, she holds qualifications in both conventional and complementary medicine.

She has been a reflexologist for 25 years, massage therapist for 27 years, has 30 years experience within the health and fitness industry, been featured in leading newspapers, appeared on television and on national radio.

Melanie, your principal and tutor, is the winner of the Association of Reflexologists Most Inspirational Tutor Award in the UK 2015 and 2018. She was the runner up for this award in 2017. This award is given to the tutor that has inspired their students and has gone above and beyond what is required. The award is granted based on student’s feedback and nominations, which are made directly to the AoR.

Melanie also won the Young Award for outstanding academic achievement in Biomedical Science. She studied biomedical science at university with the intention of becoming a GP. She achieved an overall distinction. Melanie decided to return to the complementary medicine teaching profession, as this is where her commitment lies.

Uniquely, she teaches how some medicines act in the body. This enables therapists to understand their clients more deeply and tailor treatment plans more effectively.

Many students have commented it makes an enormous difference being taught from a tutor that understands both the conventional and complementary aspect. Melanie finds having a sound knowledge in anatomy and physiology is invaluable when teaching her students.

Her teaching style is both warm and friendly and you will find Melanie to be very approachable.

She is very passionate about complementary therapies, which thoroughly motivates her students.

The Principal has extensive knowledge of providing complementary therapies within organisations. For the past fifteen years, she has developed and managed complementary therapy practices within a vast array of organisations, including the NHS, Government Agencies, Investment Banks, Hospices, etc.

Melanie delivered presentations and wrote articles on women’s health such as, nutrition and reflexology during pregnancy, which were published. 

She was the manager of a gym in London, which at the time was the largest health club in the UK. Members included multi-gold medal winning athletes and celebrities. Her responsibilities included training the Fitness Instructors and training members.

Melanie retired from the fitness industry twelve years ago to focus solely on her passion, which are complementary therapies.
